This one-day hazardous substances course equips workers with the essential knowledge and practical skills to safely handle, store, and manage hazardous chemicals in the workplace. Aligned with NZQA Unit Standards 31290 and 31293 and Regulation 4.5 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017, it supports compliance for both individuals and organisations. The course also provides the required training component for those intending to apply for Certified Handler Certification

This course covers the responsibilities and requirements of a workplace Fire Warden under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act and workplace health and safety regulations. It covers fire prevention, risk identification, emergency response, evacuation procedures, and use of firefighting equipment. It is mandatory for designated Fire Wardens and those responsible for workplace safety. Certificates are issued upon successful completion.
